Yes your weapons scale with you height and race. tried it and my Foefire's Esscence is way bigger on my max height norn than on my human. They not only scale with race and height, but also your frame size. Case in point, I got the Mistforged Hero's mace as a reward for WvW. Slapped it on my Norn and the ball of the mace is egg-shaped when drawn.
So, focusing on only this 2 games, I would say the major differences are: 1. Number of players in one raid - GW2 being 10 vs WoW it can go all the way from 10 up to 30 (20 if you do mythic) 2. Player Roles - I find it harder to understand the roles on each class/profession in GW2. Also, most information is hard to find, spreadout and long.
