From here you can head down to the area below. Make sure you pick up the SCORCHED ANCIENT GEAR lying on the ground and another further along. Note that these gears are not part of the Deep Roads collection quest but rather required to repair a door that you need to open to progress. Head to the end of the passageway and pick up a third gear.

Higher number is better. For example, though both Tier 2, the Sturdy Vanguard Coat Schematic is 13 metal while the Superior Vanguard Coat Schematic is 14 metal. But, the Sturdy Vanguard Coat Schematic has 4 Defense Cloth, while the Superior does not. If what you are trying to optimize is magic defense, the Sturdy armor would be better.
I loved the deep roads, especially Origins. The mysterious forboding feel when you first step in and start unraveling these small stories that help you understand what the hell happened here. Understanding the glorious state of the dwarves of centuries past. The stage is set so well that you can almost smell what each thaig might smell like.
